This is an owner-builder extension involving excavation under an existing house, and it's a complete disaster!!! Pigs will fly before an idea like this will ever get a building permit.

Now this is getting serious. Foundation soil has been excavated from around the base of the concrete piers, and that's a big hole. That's a fridge and a full size hot water service you can see.

This stack of bricks is supporting the end of a steel floor beam. It's only a single leaf, and is over 9 bricks high - and it's not tied in to anything else for support.
